Have a Look at Our Courses!
Now that it’s September, things are in full swing at Mid Island Elder College!
Some classes have already started, but there is still time to register for many more. In total, we are offering more than 60 courses over the next few months of our fall season.
To see the courses available and to register just click on the “Course List” button above.
Courses are being offered in seven locations, some in person, some by Zoom. Courses generally fall into five categories: academic, arts-related, current events, lifestyle and hobbies.
We are thrilled to be able to offering a full slate of courses this fall. In only seven months, since we have become an independent entity, we've presented spring courses, a speakers series and now a wide variety of courses for this fall. The fall series has something for everyone everywhere, taught by instructors who volunteer to share their knowledge, because at the heart of Elder College is the love of life-long learning.
Classes in Nanaimo are slated for the Nanaimo Museum and the library branches at Nanaimo North and Harbourfront. In Parksville, classes will be at the Parksville Community Centre and McMillan Arts Centre. Other venues include St. Philip-by-the-Sea in Lantzville, and Berwick Qualicum Beach.
Elder College offers not only learning opportunities, but also an antidote to loneliness and boredom, both of which contribute negatively to mental health.
Elder College is supported by the Nanaimo Foundation, Rotary, Coastal Community Credit Union and many other generous donors.
