Saturday Speakers Success

The first two lectures in our current series on Artificial Intelligence have been extraordinarily successful, each doubling our previous record by securing an attendance of more than 200 people.

Immense credit goes to the speakers, Eric Byres and Oscar Ruelas, as well as co-organiser the Canadian International Council. That the series addresses one of the most urgent contemporary issues must play a rôle, but let’s not forget too the enthusiastic audiences, which have contributed so much to the value of each occasion.

Watch this space for an announcement of the third lecture, by Joanna Hesketh, on the risks of AI and the ethical principles which should be brought to bear on its application. That talk will take place on Saturday April 11, at 10:00 am, at Nanoose Place Community Centre, 2925 Northwest Bay Road, Nanoose Bay. Register through Amilia or pay $10 in cash at the door.
