The State of the World

Mid Island Elder College’s Fall 2026 Saturday Speaker Series invites our community to engage with some of the most important issues shaping Canada and the world today. Across three lively two-hour presentations, the series will explore the changing international order, the future of the global economy, and the state of democracy—offering an opportunity to hear from knowledgeable speakers, consider different perspectives, and take part in thoughtful discussion.

The series begins on Saturday, October 3, from 10:00 am–12:00 pm at the Nanoose Place Community Centre. Each session is $10, including GST. Online registration is available, or participants may pay cash at the door, subject to space.
