Elder College Courses Strike Out in New Directions

Our upcoming courses include many topics that we have not explored before, many of them with exotic titles which will spark your interest.

One such is the philosophical inquiry What Is It Like to Be a Bat? A Close Reading of Thomas Nagel on Consciousness; another is Finding Comfort After Loss through Your Sense of Smell; then there’s Overturning History in Nanaimo: The White and Bob Case, about the 1964 appeal, heard in the Nanaimo Court House, that established Indigenous rights to the land and its use.

Another area of expansion is mental activity, both natural and artificial. Prominent here are Age Proof Your Brain, The Senior Brain: Staying Sharp at Any Age, and What is A.I.? How Am I Already Using It?

These are but a few, and of course there are also many old favourites, often updated as times change. Explore the full list of more than 80 offerings!
